Release 9.0 is a major upgrade with a host of new features and enhancements.
S-FRAME® (2D/3D/4D structural analysis) · Building Information Modeling (BIM) Links à An updated link with Tekla® Structures 14 and 15 which features automatic creation of Design Groups folders and export of steel design data to support more powerful analysis and design round-tripping. à An updated two-way link between S-FRAME® and REVIT® Structure 2009 and 2010. · Seismic Analysis à New input for Design Code and Seismic Parameters and implementation of Equivalent Static Force Procedure (ESFP) for NBCC2005, IBC2006 and ASCE 7-05. à Enhanced features and results for ESFP & Response Spectrum Analysis; Floor Definition tool, floor forces/shears from static and dynamic analysis, automatic calculation of accidental torsion and overturning moments per storey, automatic calculation of torsional sensitivity parameter (B), automatic scaling of results to code base shear and ductility and overstrength factors. à Correct graphical force results for cases and combinations for Response Spectrum Analysis. à Finite element forces and Wall Integration Line (WIL) forces from Response Spectrum Analysis plus graphical display of WIL forces for finite element modeled shear walls. · Completely new 32-bit and 64-bit SPARSE analysis engine which is potentially orders of magnitude faster and allows analysis of files that were previously too large to analyze (64-bit engine requires 64-bit operating system). · Multiple instances support of S-FRAME® can now be run allowing for example instant comparison of results from multiple files for sensitivity analysis. · Entirely new DESIGN View for input of Steel Design Data and storage of this data in the S-FRAME® data file. · Wind load generator in accordance with the American Petroleum Institute (API) Specification 4F: 2008 for Drilling and Well Servicing Structures. · Improvements to Dynamic and Seismic Analysis (click Downloads for specific examples in PDF format).
S-STEEL™ (structural steel design) · Maximum number of load cases and combinations increased from 99 to 4000. · Support introduced for the following analysis types: Linear Response Spectrum, Linear Time History, Linear and Nonlinear Moving Load. · Enhanced inter-operability with S-FRAME® for data integrity and more efficient design/analysis. Steel design data such as Design Code, Steel Table, material grades, … etc is read directly from S-FRAME®.
S-CONCRETE™ (concrete section design and detailing) · Support for ACI 318-08 including fiber-reinforced concrete (which affects minimum stirrup requirements). · New tool that generates moment-curvature diagrams for any type section with reinforcing bars and/or prestressing strands. The tool can incorporate complex concrete behavior (e.g. confined concrete, tension stiffening, creep and shrinkage) and advanced reinforcing bar behavior (i.e. strain-hardening). Moment-curvature relationships can be used for a number of purposes such as deflection estimation, realistic flexural capacity estimation, evaluation of overstrength factors and design shear forces in earthquake resistant shear walls. · For composite columns, two W-shapes can now be added permitting the creation of a “cruciform” type of built-up steel section. This also permits the creation of very large composite sections that include 2 relatively small W-shapes as “concentrated reinforcement” at specific locations in the section. · Maximum number of load cases for sectional and panel loading increased from 20,000 to 32,000. A “comment” may also be added to each sectional and/or panel load case for reference purposes. · User can now override “Warning” messages in Results Report and convert them to “Reviewed-OK” (including the overall status).
B-LINE™ (concrete continuous beam design and detailing) · Support for ACI 318-08 including fiber-reinforced concrete (which affects minimum stirrup requirements).
